North-South All Star Game

Good luck to our CCSD representatives in the annual North-South All-Star Game in Lexington this Saturday, March 16, 2019.

Kenyatta Jenkins of West Ashley High School made the South Roster for the boys' game. He is the Wildcats' all-time leading scorer and was named the Region 8-AAAAA Player of the Year this season. Jenkins made the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association AAAAA all-state team this year and was a High School Sports Report all-state selection last year.

North-SouthBurke's head coach, Deon Richardson, will serve as an assistant for the South All-Stars. He had guided the Bulldogs to a pair of SCHSL state titles (A in 2015, AA in 2017). Richardson is a two-time region coach of the year, a two-time High School Sports Report Coach of the Year, and served as an assistant in the North-South All-Star Game in 2017.

On the girls' side, Burke's Shadea Kelly made the South roster; she averaged 16 points and nine rebounds this past season and was the Region 6-AA Player of the Year. Kelly finished her career with more than 1,300 points and was a three-time all-state selection by the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association.

The girls' contest is at 1:00 p.m., and the boys' game is set for 3:00 p.m.
